Zreferowane tutaj badania mają na celu wydobycie i sklasyfikowanie wiedzy odwzorowanej w całym tym obszarze, jego charakterystykę z punktu widzenia miejsca w języku ogólnonarodowym i w terminologii naukowej oraz interpretację pewnych osobliwości, jakie dają się zauważyć we współczesnych regułach nomenklatury pierwiastków w stosunku do zasad tworzenia nazw innych typów indywiduów chemicznych.
