Rozprawy zebrane w niniejszym numerze „Studiów Semiotycznych” są rezultatem konferencji Argumentacja i retoryka klasyczna (Lublin, 25–26.10.2017 r.) zorganizowanej przez Wydział Filozofii KUL oraz inicjatywę ArgDiaP (http://argdiap.pl) we współpracy z Polskim Towarzystwem Semiotycznym i Polskim Towarzystwem Retorycznym. Była to już piętnasta konferencja z cyklu Argumentacja – Dialog – Perswazja.
